| Dan Cloutier is a rising force on the local New England singer songwriter, folk, and indie scene. His second album "Live at the Masquerade Ball" came out in 2009, with Worcester Magazine heralding it as "genuine folk greatness" and the Pulse Magazine noting that "This guitar-strumming storyteller is aiming to steal your heart with his lyrical honesty." |
In February of 2010, Ashley Jordan released her first CD titled Simple Love and quickly found herself featured on many of New England's most popular Independent music publications. With a cover story in Metronome Magazine, Skope Magazine's "Artists to Watch" page, as well as the lead story in The Worcester Telegram Weekend Magazine, Ashley's music started receiving significant airplay. In March of 2012, Ashley was nominated for "Country Act of the Year" by the New England Music Awards.

The Steels Wheels is a wonderful band but there's more to it than that. They are all experienced bike riders (go to this great video to see what we mean), and they have offered to do a benefit bike ride for us on the same day they are playing at the Rose Garden. One of the young parents at The Children's Studio preschool at 184 W. Main Street in Norton was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer on Valentine's Day this year and he, his wife, and two small children could use some financial assistance.
A 15-mile bike ride, with The Steel Wheels participating and the riders offering financial support, will leave from The Children's Studio parking lot at 10:30 am on May 19th. We're calling the event "Wheels Up for Corey." When they return there at the end of the ride, they will find Children's Studio kids engaged in their own bike event, navigating a bike course set up just for them. Parents of each participating child will be asked to consider making a donation to support their child's ride. The Rose Garden will be making a $100 donation to the cause.
Another exciting part of this is that The Steel Wheels will haul out their instruments and perform several songs for the assembled group. Then they will pack up their instruments and bikes to get ready for their show with us that evening. If you or a family member is an experienced bike rider and might like to either ride, or help sponsor another rider, contact us at mac@rosegardenfolk.com.
You are invited to attend the Children's Studio portion of "Wheels Up for Corey," and we most definitely urge you to make reservations now for The Steel Wheels' evening show at the Rose Garden!
